Light Painting
Visual Excellence
Light painting is a photographic technique where a moving light source is used during a long‑exposure shot to illuminate a scene or create visible light trails, effectively “drawing” with light. It is both a technical method and an artistic practice, used since the 1880s and popular among photographers for creative visual effects.

What is Light Painting

-
Light painting involves moving a light source (flashlight, LED, etc.) while the camera shutter remains open for an extended period.
-
The camera records the path of the light, allowing artists to “paint” or illuminate subjects selectively.
-
It is considered both a photographic technique and a standalone art form, where the camera acts as a canvas and light acts as the paint.
Main Types of Light Painting
-
Light Drawing: The light source is visible to the camera, creating shapes, orbs, or written words.
-
Light Painting (Illumination): The light source is hidden; only the illuminated subject appears in the image. Common in landscapes and portraits.
-
Kinetic Light Painting: The camera moves while the light remains still (e.g., camera rotation, zoom pulls).
Capturing these moments, will give every wedding couple a unique photograph.
